My Glastonbury Adventure

Hello my gorgeous Daisies! I spent a magical time on a spiritual retreat last week in Glastonbury and I couldn’t wait to tell you guys about it. From meditation, to journaling, setting intentions, and pulling tarot cards, it was good to get out of the city and breathe in the fresh countryside air, look at the cows and sheep and drink in the green fields and greenery. Glastonbury is well known for its big, vivacious festival which is on my bucket list to visit and I don’t believe many people know much about the town outside of the festival attraction.

I’m very much into astrology, yoga, meditation, and crystals so this was the perfect get away for me since Glastonbury is considered the heart chakra of the world! This was my first time in Glastonbury and was surprised by not only how small the town was, but how friendly and cheerful the residents were (you know you’ve been living in London for too long when a simple “hello” from a stranger startles you!).

Following my return back to London, I was inspired to write a blog about the places I had visited and been enthralled with. Mind you, this isn’t an exhaustive list but the places I visited and activities I completed resonated and left an imprint on me.

1.     Hiking Up To Glastonbury Tor

Get your gym/hiking gear at the ready and lace those trainers up tight. The Glastonbury Tor is a partial ruin of a church that is located at the top of a hill. The ascent took 15-20 minutes and for an active individual like myself, I had to stop halfway to catch my breath. As you ascend the hill, you will be greeted with the sight of many black and white sheep, beautiful fauna and an ever increasing breathtaking view. When you get to the top, you will not be disappointed by the sight of the town below and the expansive fields that fade in to the distance.

2.     Visiting The Chalice Well

If you follow me on twitter, you’ll know how much I love picnic dates and strolling through a beautiful park and I was not disappointed when I went to visit the Chalice well. The Chalice Well is known as a sacred spiritual red spring located at the foot of Glastonbury Tor. You can even drink the water at the well (I know I certainly did) which is believed to possess healing properties. Aside from the Chalice Well, the park that it is located in, is peaceful, serene and has many quiet spots for reflection.

3.     The Main High Street

There are many gift and jewellery shops located on the main high street that are suited for all tastes. You can find anything from candles, crystals, tarot cards, organic food, incense and books on healing and spirituality. I’m obsessed with candles so I did not hesitate to buy as many sweet, scented candles that could fit in my bag.

4.     The Glastonbury Goddess Temple

This temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Avalon who is believed to be part of the earth and landscape that is Glastonbury and is dedicated to spirituality. When you enter the temple, the sweet, delicious smell entices you in before you take in the breath-taking artwork dedicated to the Goddess of Avalon. You can light a few candles at the altar, receive a healing cleanse from the priestess and purchase some home-made candles. This beautiful temple will leave you in awe and contemplation.

My trip to Glastonbury was exciting and left me with a sense of calm and peace. I will visit again whether, it is for the festival or to visit more sights and shops that I did not previously have time.

This is perfect for the gentleman who wants to get out of the chaotic bustle of London, enjoy the fresh country air, enjoy the green scenery, stare into my big sweet brown eyes and walk hand in hand before creating some magic late in to the evening.

As always, book me and lets create your spiritual awakening.
