Bank Holiday Shenanigans and Injuries

Welcome back my lovely Daisies! I’m a massive foodie and have enjoyed some wonderful dinner dates this past week. Thank you very much to the gentlemen for making it such a special time during a stressful period.

My website currently states I cannot partake in adventure/fitness dates due to an injury I sustained on my left foot and will be prioritising dinner/lunch dates for at least 4 weeks (3 weeks by the time you are reading this).

I’m sure everyone was as excited by the May Bank Holiday as myself, especially when you realise this is the last bank holiday until August. I had a jam packed weekend ahead of me, 2 dinner dates, a date that involved some private time and a picnic with my friends. It was sunny, I was excited and most importantly needed to clean my house before getting ready for my dinner date. This is where things went a bit pear shaped…

I was hoovering vigorously and kicked the head of the hoover with my left foot and let out a scream after 2 seconds before looking down and trying to figure out where the sharp pain on my left foot was coming from. I looked down and there was blood gushing from my left toe, staining my beautiful, laminated floor. Running to the bathroom to grab some tissues, I left a trail of blood behind me before pressing a fistful of tissues on to my left toe. Distressed, I sat on my bathroom floor, confused, shocked, appalled before taking a peak at the damage. Turns out, I’d ripped half may toe nail off with the hoover.

I decided to call my family who work in healthcare and ask for their advice on what I should do. At this point, my foot is now swelling up and a dull pain takes over the shock I was feeling earlier. After a trip to my local pharmacy, I was armed with gauze, antiseptic cream and instructions on after care and decided at that point, I wasn’t going to let my toe stop me from enjoying my bank holiday.

Unfortunately, I had to reschedule my dinner date the day I sustained my injury but managed to uphold my other commitments. There is no gym or netball for me at the moment, but this is a good time for me to put my focus on other aspects in my life.  As I explained earlier, I will be prioritising dinner/lunch dates so do not hesitate to reach out to me and book me.

And yes, I seriously ripped my toe nail off with my hoover!
